The days are long, but the years are short.

Sprouts #1 - 6
There's no time like the end of the year to remind us that another year has flown by. (Even if some days seemed to drag on forever). As AnneMarie, Andrea & Tabi can confirm the Sprouts you see with Santa use to be quite little, cute and oh so funny. While these seedlings have indeed sprouted (eye rolls and all) they will always be our Sprouts, just like your Sprouts that come to learn, grow AND teach us everyday. While it is not always easy to "enjoy the moment" we hope that you find some time to stop and really look at your little ones. One day they will not be so little and you will be not so busy and they will not want to sit on Santa's lap anymore. (Except they will because they really want the gifts). ;-)

Multiple to-do lists, over stimulating stores, family squabbles,  and pants that end up to tight because of all the goodies everywhere.  It's no wonder our kids soak up our holiday stress without the know-how to handle big feels and confusing emotions. How do we as grown-ups show up best for our little ones in times of bah humbug? Our friends at Hand In Hand parenting help us find some calm in all the jingled chaos.  In the words of Charlie Brown, "It's not what's under the tree that counts. It's who's around it".  As always we encourage you to share your go-to's for creating a peaceful season with you and yours.

Below are some activities to have handy for your little ones on Thanksgiving. Add fun cups with crayons and washable markers next to their place setting. You can even wait until they have eaten "at least FIVE bites" before they can begin their activity.

Cheers to a very Happy Turkey Day!

In the world of child rearing we are experiencing an evolution. The advancement of neurological discoveries is letting us in to the intricacies of the developing brain. The information is fascinating and vast, it can make your head spin!  We are realizing that the traditional techniques of discipline have run their course.  Children need a new approach, and one size does NOT fit all. But exactly where do we begin? Change is messy folks, but necessary. Thanks to the internet, and AmazonPrime, information is available at our finger tips.  Below is a solid resources to help any intrigued grown-up get started. We live in a time were resources are plenty and support genuine. None of us know exactly what we are doing here, luckily the more we open up about our questions and challenges the more opportunity we have to evolve in this crazy adventure raising our next generation.
